The cafeteria, completed in two phases, included the replacement of the existing servery, dining room and food preparation kitchen on the lower level directly below the seating. A mezzanine was added in existing double height space that created a new distinctive ADA accessible entry way into the cafeteria, while adding an additional 30 seats (totaling 230 seats) and updating finishes in the hospitals staff entry vestibule and waiting area.
The new layout creates a beautiful space for an enhanced patient, visitor and staff experience. The seating area was designed to be easily reconfigured for large events, small gatherings or team meetings. An enhanced flow-through servery featuring hot and cold foods, coupled with an á la carte menu served directly to patient rooms, this is a fully functional hospital food service program.
