Vertex, Inc.

Corporate / Workplace Philadelphia Metro Area
Vertex, Inc. occupied 7 buildings on 3 campuses in suburban Philadelphia. Vertex’s new headquarters was designed through intense workplace studies, data collection regarding work patterns, habits and occupancy levels and workforce focus groups to integrate employees' needs into a new a 169,000 SF headquarters.
With a prevalence of introverted workers, the floor plan incorporated a gentle circulation curve. Workstation clusters radiate from it offering shorter sightlines, gradually wider aisles and clustered neighborhoods to insulate the concentrating worker. The layout was designed to create an intimate experience, reminiscent of neighborhoods, with all offices and workstations featuring sit-to-stand desks.
With a significant planned growth over the lease term, the headquarters’ interior infrastructure was built to support nearly double the move-in population of 700. The new headquarters is poised for the future migration of new employees from the legacy retirements: a robust infrastructure will prove work ready for an activity-based workplace. Post occupancy surveys reveal more people are in the office and working in alternative settings as opposed to their desks.
