Montefiore Medical Center planned to expand its Breast Screening program by renovating previously vacant office space on the fifth and seventh floors in the 1250 Waters Place Building. The building was an existing, 13-story steel construction building located in the borough of Bronx, NYC. At that time, the other occupied spaces in the building served other outpatient practices associated with the Montefiore Medical Center and Business offices serving the community.
Montefiore expanded its breast imaging services to meet the growing needs of the community. The new Breast Center is an outpatient facility that provides screening imaging services. Services now provided on-site include Breast Ultrasound and Mammography, stereotactic biopsy, and general exam rooms. The support spaces included: reading rooms, nursing stations, an imaging manager’s office, MD office/consult rooms, gowned waiting, clean supply, soiled holding, and patient toilets.
