Kennedy Health System engaged FCA to undertake a System Master Plan. The senior leadership knew they had many great assets in their system. One of their goals was to understand how to maximize these assets and position the health system for possible merger opportunities. Besides the known assets of the system, the market study revealed a highly insured under-served market in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Cherry Hill Hospital was a long standing community hospital but lacked several key clinical specialties to serve its primary market. This revealed an immense immediate growth potential.
On the Cherry Hill campus, the plan called for the creation of an Ambulatory Procedure Center with ambulatory surgical capacity, space for specialists, and a combined cancer center. For the Washington Township campus, space was needed to address their Labor and Delivery program as well as developing additional intensive care capacity.
The successful outcome is that Jefferson Health and Kennedy Health have since aligned as partners and the first phase of the master plan at Cherry Hill is being designed and implemented.
