This project was a 3-story addition to the existing Cancer Center. The program includes new entrance and exits, new treatment spaces, new office and exam space, and the ability for vertical expansion in the future. This expansion transformed a small, outdated infusion facility from 6 to 24 Infusion Bays.
The design focused on providing patients opportunities to exposure to daylight and nature. The interior design is subtly textured and uses natural colors throughout. The materials are environmentally friendly both in their construction and long-term operation impact for the system. The mechanical systems were also improved to provide health indoor air quality for the patients. The Geisinger Health System is committed to providing a healthier, more sustainable environment for their patients, visitors, and staff by making a system wide commitment to LEED.
